Flag Unfurling Ceremony And Republic Day Celebrations At Embassy Of India In Muscat

Muscat: The Indian Embassy in Muscat marked the 76th Republic Day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. Over 500 members of the Indian community and supporters of India in Oman attended the event. H.E. Amit Narang, the Indian Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, along with his wife, Mrs. Divya Narang, commenced the celebrations by paying homage with a floral tribute at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, honoring his enduring legacy of peace and non-violence.

The Ambassador unfurled the National Flag, followed by a rendition of the National Anthem performed by students from the Indian School Al Ghubra. He also shared excerpts from the Republic Day address of the Hon’ble President of India, emphasizing the nation’s achievements, democratic principles, and future aspirations.

The festive atmosphere was further enriched by patriotic songs performed by the students from the Indian School Al Ghubra. Attendees proudly wore beautiful tricolor sashes, symbolizing their affection for India.

Additionally, the event recognized the winners of the Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz from Oman, an initiative by the Government of India aimed at connecting the youth of the diaspora with India’s rich cultural heritage, history, and accomplishments. The quiz saw enthusiastic participation from the Indian community in Oman.

To continue the Republic Day celebrations, the Embassy will host a grand reception on the evening of January 27, 2025.
