Muscat: On Tuesday, Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait, arrived in the Sultanate of Oman for a two-day state visit.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik personally welcomed the Emir of Kuwait, leading the reception party.
As the Emir's jet landed at the Royal Airport, His Majesty the Sultan greeted him at the foot of the ramp, extending a warm welcome and wishing him and his delegation a pleasant stay in Oman.
To demonstrate the hospitality and respect, a squadron of military aircraft escorted the guest's jet upon entering Omani airspace until its safe arrival at the Royal Airport.
Accompanied by several dignitaries, including HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, and Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah was received by esteemed members of the Omani government and the Kuwaiti Embassy in Muscat.
Following the reception, His Majesty the Sultan and Sheikh Mishal proceeded to the hall, accompanied by two rows of the Royal Guard of Oman (RGO).
After a brief pause, the motorcade carrying the two leaders departed from the Royal Airport, making their way to Al Alam Palace for the official and public reception.
As the motorcade made its way past Muscat Gate, a contingent of Royal Camel Corps stood on either side of the road, extending a warm welcome to the guest. Accompanied by a procession from the Royal Cavalry and the RGO Cavalry, the official motorcade continued its journey until it reached the National Museum's building, accompanied by the melodic tunes of a mounted military band.
Upon reaching the yard leading to Al Alam Palace, the official motorcade was greeted with a grand reception, attended by over 600 male and female citizens. Folklore bands lined the passage, singing lyrics that expressed their heartfelt welcome to the guest.
As the motorcade approached the boundary of Al Alam Palace, a twenty-one gun salute was fired by the artillery in honor of the esteemed guest.
Upon entering the courtyard of Al Alam Palace, the RGO band played a welcoming tune, creating an atmosphere of celebration and excitement.
Following this, His Majesty the Sultan accompanied Sheikh Mishal to the Dais of Honour, where the National Anthem of the State of Kuwait was played.
Subsequently, His Majesty the Sultan exchanged handshakes with the members of the official delegation accompanying the Emir of Kuwait, extending his wishes for a pleasant stay. In return, the Emir shook hands with select members of the Royal Family, Chairmen of the State Council and Shura Council, ministers, as well as commanders of the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF) and the Royal Oman Police (ROP).
Afterwards, His Majesty the Sultan and the guest proceeded to the hall, where they enjoyed a cup of coffee together.
The Emir of Kuwait is accompanied during the visit by an official delegation consisting of Sheikh Mohammed Abdulaziz Al Jarrah Al Sabah, Sheikh Hamad Sabah Al Ahmed Al Sabah, Sheikh Mubarak Al Hamoud Al Jaber Al Sabah, Sheikh Athbi Nassir Al Athbi Al Sabah, Sheikh Ali Khalid Al Jaber Al Sabah, Sheikh Mansour Mubarak Abdullah Al Jaber Al Sabah, Sheikh Dr. Bassil Al Hamoud Al Malik Al Sabah, Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al Mubarak Al Sabah, Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs, Dr. Imad Mohammad Abdulaziz Al Ateeqi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil, Lt. Gen Jamal Mohammed Al Diab. Also present are Director of the Office of the Emir, Sheikh Khaled Al Abdullah Al Sabah Al Nasser Al Sabah, Head of Amiri Protocols, Yousef Hamad Al Roumi, Head of Media and Cultural Affairs at the Amiri Diwan, Mazen Issa Al Issa, Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Nawaf Saud Al Nasser Al Sabah, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, and Dr. Mohammed Nassir Al Hajri, Ambassador of Kuwait to Oman.
