Electricity Production In Oman Increases 8.1% Till End Of September 2024

Muscat: By the end of September 2024, the Sultanate of Oman experienced an 8.1% increase in total electricity production, amounting to 37,584.7 GWh, compared to 34,777.4 GWh during the same timeframe in 2023, as reported by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

The statistics indicate that the North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, and Al Dhahirah Governorates collectively produced 23,586.1 GWh of electricity.

In the North Al Sharqiyah and South Al Sharqiyah Governorates, electricity production reached 8,247.6 GWh by the end of September 2024.

Conversely, the Al Dakhliyah Governorate saw a significant decline in electricity production, dropping by 63.5%, while the Governorate of Muscat experienced an 8.1% decrease, resulting in a total of 395.5 GWh.

In contrast, the Dhofar Governorate reported a 14.7% increase in electricity production, totaling 4,458 GWh.

On the other hand, the Al Wusta Governorate faced a 26.1% reduction in electricity production, bringing it down to 130.9 GWh.

Overall, the net electricity production in the Sultanate of Oman rose by 7.3% to reach 36,210.9 GWh by the end of September 2024.
