Muscat: The Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources (MAFWR) has issued a statement announcing the temporary closure of operations at the Central Wholesale Fish Market for the duration of the Eid holiday.
In light of the upcoming Eid Al-Adha celebrations, the ministry has decided to suspend work at the Central Fish Wholesale Market for a period of four days, starting from Sunday, 6/16/2024, until Wednesday, June 19, 2024. However, normal operations will resume on Thursday, June 20, 2024.
During this temporary closure, exporters will still be able to export certain fish species that are permitted for export, subject to specific percentage regulations. However, it is important to note that the export of prohibited species will be strictly prohibited. These regulations are in accordance with Ministerial Resolution No. (75/2019), which governs the export of fish from the Sultanate of Oman and includes requirements related to the weight and value of the fish.
