On Tuesday, the Wilayat of Shaleem and Al Halaniyat Islands in the Governorate of Dhofar celebrated the inauguration of a Reverse Osmosis Plant. This plant, designed to provide 1,500 cubic metres of water per day, was opened under the patronage of HH Sayyid Marwan Turki Al Said, the Governor of Dhofar.
The establishment of this plant is a significant step towards the development of the wilayat. It will cater to the water needs of residential areas such as Hoqqa, Zakher, Ajarit, and their surrounding regions. By eliminating the reliance on water tankers for long-distance transportation, the plant will enhance the quality and availability of fresh water for the residents.
The funding for this project has been provided by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) in collaboration with the Office of the Governor of Dhofar. This initiative is part of PDO's commitment to social responsibility and its dedication to serving local communities across the Sultanate of Oman.
