Commerce Ministry Reviews National Programme “Nazdaher” Before Shura Council

Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion conducted a review of the National Program for Private Sector and Foreign Trade Development, known as “Nazdaher.”

The ministry also assessed initiatives aimed at enhancing the growth and development of the trade and industry sectors, as well as improving the business and investment climate.

This review occurred during a meeting led by Khalid Hilal Al Maawali, Chairman of the Shura Council, alongside Council members and Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion.

During a visual presentation, the Minister emphasized the significance of such meetings and presentations from government entities to inform Council members about their initiatives. He noted that this strategy aligns with the goal of fostering collaboration among state institutions to realize Oman Vision 2040.

The discussion included the National Program for Private Sector and Foreign Trade Development “Nazdaher,” which is integral to the national programs under the economic and development framework of “Oman Vision 2040.” This initiative aims to enhance national efforts to attract investments, create a conducive investment environment, and boost Omani exports during the 10th five-year plan (2021-2025).

Council members raised several observations and questions, emphasizing the necessity of increasing the contributions of industry, trade, and investment to the GDP.

Attendees included Dr. Saleh Said Masan, Undersecretary for Commerce and Industry, Ibtisam Ahmed Al Farooji, Undersecretary for Investment Promotion, and Pankaj Khimji, Advisor for Foreign Trade and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion.
