China-Oman Partnership Reaches New Heights: Ambassador Li Lingbing

China's Ambassador to Oman, Li Lingbing, expressed her appreciation for the longstanding friendship between China and Oman, emphasizing the growth of trade relations and the elevated level of partnership between the two nations.

During a Symposium held at the Chinese Embassy in Oman, Ambassador Lingbing delivered her remarks in fluent Arabic, underscoring the deep-rooted historical ties between China and Oman. The event provided a platform for discussions on bilateral cooperation, reflecting on past achievements, and outlining the future trajectory of collaboration between the two countries.

Ambassador Lingbing commenced her speech by summarizing the 45-year journey since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1978. She emphasized the significance of the strategic partnership announced in 2018, which marked a new chapter in China-Oman relations. Over the years, economic and trade cooperation has thrived, with the bilateral trade volume reaching $40.45 billion by the end of 2022.

Furthermore, Ambassador Lingbing highlighted China's consistent role as Oman's largest trading partner and the primary destination for its crude oil exports. She also mentioned the fruitful exchanges that took place in 2023, including visits from various Omani ministers and high-ranking Chinese officials. These exchanges have significantly contributed to the deepening of practical cooperation across diverse fields.

Ambassador Lingbing placed particular emphasis on the achievements of key projects, which encompassed infrastructure, technology, and energy initiatives. Notably, she highlighted the ongoing projects in Oman, including China State Grid Corporation's investment in the transmission grid projects, Huawei's contributions to the telecommunications infrastructure, and the positive impact of Huaxin Cement Company's investment in Oman Cement Company.

Additionally, the ambassador provided detailed insights into collaborations in various sectors such as education, artificial intelligence, and satellite technology. She also acknowledged the signing of agreements aimed at enhancing Omani fish product exports to China, signifying a significant advancement in this sector.

Furthermore, Ambassador Lingbing shared the embassy's vision for future cooperation, underscoring a strong commitment to the Belt and Road Initiative and Oman Vision 2040. She urged joint efforts in areas like new energy, high-tech, and education, emphasizing the potential for green cooperation, technological advancements, and cultural exchanges.

Addressing global diplomacy, Ambassador Lingbing outlined China's unwavering dedication to establishing a community with a shared future for mankind. She emphasized the importance of an equal and orderly multipolar world and a universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization.
