Chennai: The Indian bowlers delivered an impressive performance, restricting the Bangladesh team to 112 runs, while managing to secure eight wickets, at the stroke of Tea during the match at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium on Thursday.
By the conclusion of the second session, Bangladesh found themselves 112/8 in 36.5 overs, with Mehidy Hasan Miraz (12) the only batsman to remain unbeaten at the crease. They were still trailing by a significant margin of 264 runs.
The second session of the day commenced at 26/3, with Najmul Hossain Shanto (15) and Mushfiqur Rahim (4) both scoring unbeaten runs.
Both batsmen managed to add just 10 runs to the total before Shanto was sent back to the pavilion following his score of 20 runs, achieved with the assistance of three fours.
At the score of 40, Mushfiqur was subsequently sent back to the dressing room by the experienced captain, Jasprit Bumrah, in the 13th over of the innings. He scored eight runs before returning.
Following these two dismissals, Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das were left in the middle. They subsequently formed a 50-run partnership in the 28th over, as the team's score reached 90/5.

With this wicket, Mahmud completed his fifth wicket and became the first bowler from Bangladesh to achieve this feat in the longest format of the game in India.
In addition to Hasan Mahmud, Taskin Ahmed took three wickets, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Nahid Rana each took one wicket in their respective overs.
The Bangladesh team, trailing by 376 runs, entered the field with openers Shadman Islam and Zakir Hasan.
Jasprit Bumrah took the first wicket on the final ball of the first over, dismissing Shadman for 0.
Following this, the right-arm pacer Akash Deep took two wickets in two balls, reducing the visiting team to 22/3 in eight overs.
