CAA Issues Guidelines For Paramotoring In Oman

Muscat: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is urging paragliding practitioners to prioritize safety by following regulations and standards and adopting safe practices to avoid any legal consequences.

In circular No.1/2024, the CAA has updated the regulations related to Hang-Gliding procedures in the Sultanate of Oman. This includes the establishment of an exposition guidance and the ratification of a cooperation agreement between the Omani Aviation Sports Committee (OASC) and the International Association of Hang-Gliding Pilots and Instructors (APPI). The purpose of this agreement is to facilitate the sharing of updated educational resources, pilot licensing, and trainer preparation.

Furthermore, a memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Civil Aviation Authority and the Omani Committee for Air Sports to regulate recreational aviation activities and develop a training policy document.

Given these developments, the Civil Aviation Authority emphasizes the significance of adhering to safety regulations and standards, and urges all practitioners to comply with safe practices. It is important to note that the authority will take legal action against any detected violations.
