Muscat: On Wednesday, the Board of Directors of the Oman Endowment Foundation (OED) convened for its inaugural meeting, presided over by Dr. Mohammed Said Al Maamari, the Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, and the Head of the OED Board of Directors.
The agenda of the meeting encompassed a variety of critical topics, including the approval process for the selection of the OED Deputy Chairman and Rapporteur, the evaluation of progress in the foundation phase, the establishment of a working team, the development of project governance frameworks, and the selection of a temporary headquarters for the OED.
The deliberations also extended to administrative and financial matters, such as the allocation of the founding budget, the authorization of a board member to assume the responsibilities of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and the initiation of procedures for the appointment of the CEO under the oversight of a specialized agency.
Furthermore, the Board of Directors engaged in discussions regarding the OED's media policy, investment portfolio, opportunities for target investments, the operational model for investments, and the potential for collaboration with institutions that possess expertise in the development of financial, administrative, and investment systems.
