Bangladesh Bring In James Pamment As Fielding Coach

Dhaka: James Pamment has been appointed as the fielding coach for the Bangladesh men's senior cricket team.

The former New Zealand cricketer, who specializes in fielding, will join the team in preparation for the upcoming Test series against Zimbabwe later this month.

Pamment's contract is set to extend until the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027.

"I am thrilled about the chance to work with such a talented Bangladesh team," Pamment stated, as reported by the ICC. "I look forward to collaborating with the players and the coaching staff ahead of the Zimbabwe series," he added.

At 56 years old, Pamment previously held the position of Assistant Coach with the Mumbai Indians in the IPL from 2018 until he departed late last year.

He has also been the Head Coach of the Northern District Cricket Association in New Zealand and served as a High Performance Coach for New Zealand Cricket. His experience includes roles as a Fielding Resource Coach and Specialist Technical Advisor for the senior New Zealand team, New Zealand A, and the Under-19 team.

Pamment was part of the Black Caps' coaching staff during the home series against Pakistan in 2011 and has briefly acted as the interim coach for the United States national team.

Bangladesh will face Zimbabwe in a two-match Test series at home, commencing on April 20 in Sylhet.
