Audio Guide Service Launched At The National Museum

Muscat: In an effort to enhance the visitor experience, the National Museum has introduced the "Audio Guide" service. This initiative aims to provide an engaging and informative journey through the museum, offering detailed historical insights into its galleries and selected artefacts.

The service features a collection of 395 items and is accessible in both Arabic and English. Visitors can choose between self-guided or group tour options.

Notably, the "Audio Guide" includes features tailored for individuals with disabilities, such as audio descriptions for those with visual impairments and sign language support for the deaf and hard of hearing. Additionally, the device provides audio and visual instructions for ease of use, along with an interactive map to help visitors navigate the galleries and significant artefacts.

The introduction of this service is in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, which aims to promote digital transformation and enrich the visitor experience by adding cognitive and cultural dimensions that deepen their understanding of the exhibits and foster greater engagement.

In December, the National Museum also launched a "Virtual Tour" service on its official website, allowing visitors to explore the museum's galleries and discover rare artefacts that narrate the history of Oman, simulating an in-person experience.
