Muscat: Today marked the beginning of the third scout camp in Al Dhahirah Governorate, held at the Youth Complex in Ibri. This event has been organized by the General Directorate of Scouts and Guides within the Ministry of Education and will run through to next Sunday.
Eighty-five scouts alongside fifteen scout leaders from different scouting units throughout the governorate are taking part in this camp, which seeks to boost scouting initiatives and training programs in the area.
The opening ceremony provided a glimpse into the scouting agenda, outlined the protocols to be adhered to during the camp, and helped participants get grouped and introduced to their leaders.
On the first day, activities revolved around administrative and organizational efforts. Delegations were organized into sub-camps categorized by regions and schools, responsibilities were allocated to scout leaders, camp supplies were readied, and the necessary tools for the forthcoming activities were handed out.
Furthermore, the establishment of the sub-camps was carried out under the guidance of the scout leaders, allowing participants to cultivate vital skills such as tent installation, teamwork, discipline, and organization.
