New Delhi: In a recent development, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the Men's Test Player Rankings, which have seen notable improvements for West Indies' Jayden Seales and Jason Holder.
Despite the Caribbean team's defeat in the recent Test series against South Africa, Seales and Holder have demonstrated commendable performances.
Seales achieved a significant milestone by securing nine wickets in the second Test match in Guyana. His outstanding performance, including a six-wicket haul in the second innings, led to his achievement of his best Test figures of 6/61. This remarkable feat not only elevated his position in the Test rankings for bowlers but also marked a new career-high rating, placing him at 13th.
Holder has also shown considerable progress in all three categories, advancing two places to secure the fifth position behind India's Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin in the latest rankings for Test all-rounders. His contributions with both bat and ball in Guyana have been instrumental in this achievement.
In the ODI rankings, notable progress has been observed among players from the Netherlands and the USA, who have emerged as the top performers following their strong performances in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2.
Scott Edwards from the Netherlands has risen six places to the 26th position in the ODI batting rankings after scoring a half-century against Canada. Similarly, Aaron Jones from the USA has climbed 11 positions to the 56th spot, while Vikramjit Singh from the Netherlands has moved up nine positions to the 79th spot.
This development highlights the exceptional performances of Seales, Holder, Edwards, Jones, and Singh, who have not only contributed significantly to their respective teams but have also made significant strides in their international careers.
