UTAS-Al Mussanah Continues “Summer Of The Future” Program To Support Knowledge And Community Development

The University of Technology and Applied Sciences – Al Mussanah is continuing to run its "Summer of the Future" program, which is organized by the Department of Continuing Education and Community Service, as part of its aim to enhance its educational role in the community. The program exemplifies the university's dedication to forming active collaborations with institutions and individuals, in line with Oman’s aim to develop a sustainable, innovation-driven knowledge economy that empowers youth.

Running until mid-August 2025, the program intends to assist participants in making beneficial use of their summer vacation by providing a diverse range of training workshops customized to the demands of different community organizations. The program includes a variety of subjects, such as modern technology, innovation, digital transformation, leadership, and entrepreneurship, all aimed at improving participants' knowledge and professional abilities.

With more than 45 training programs delivered by a staff of academics and industry specialists, the initiative offers a high-quality, hands-on learning experience that gives participants practical, market-relevant skills that can be applied to a variety of sectors.
Dr. Nasser Salim Al Baimani, Assistant Vice Chancellor of UTAS Al Mussanah, stated that organizing such events is in line with the university's strategic plan to connect education with actual community and labor market demands. He emphasized that community-focused activities are a key component of the university's mission and align with Oman Vision 2040, helping to develop generations capable of adapting to rapid changes in knowledge sectors.

Dr. Khalifa Salim AlHatmi, Head of the Department of Continuing Education and Community Service, described the "Summer of the Future" as a practical manifestation of the university's mission to disseminate knowledge and promote lifelong learning. "We are pleased to launch this program, which opens new horizons for participants, helps them discover their potential, and develops their skills," he stated. Dr. AlHatmi noted that the program had received significant attention, demonstrating an increasing awareness of the value of investing summertime in skill-building and personal development beyond traditional vacation norms.

Several participants emphasized the significance of such endeavors in aligning with their professional goals, stating that the “Summer of theFuture” offered them a distinct learning experience that blends academic rigor with practical application.

This initiative continues to be one of the university's most important annual programs, highlighting its unwavering dedication to education for development and reaffirming its position as a leading academic institution that contributes to society's scientific, cultural, and professional progress.
