Sanaa: According to Al Jazeera, the US military's strike on the Ras Isa port in Yemen's Hodeidah governorate resulted in the deaths of at least 38 individuals, with around 102 others sustaining injuries, as reported by the local health office.
The Israeli military announced that it had "detected a missile launched from Yemen towards Israeli territory" and confirmed that it successfully intercepted the missile.
In a related development, Mark Carney, Canada's Prime Minister and leader of the Liberal Party, urged for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, calling on Israel to lift its prolonged blockade and permit humanitarian aid to reach the affected region.
"We must collaborate with our international partners to apply maximum pressure and encouragement for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza," he stated during the final debate among the leaders of Canada's four major political parties ahead of the upcoming general election.
In a post on X, Carney also advocated for "the release of all hostages," increased humanitarian assistance for civilians in Gaza, and a "lasting two-state solution."
Earlier in the day, Al Jazeera reported that an Israeli attack on a home in Khan Younis resulted in the deaths of a family of 13, while medical sources indicated that at least 32 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes across Gaza on Thursday.
Additionally, Al Jazeera noted that another family was "wiped out" in a prior Israeli assault on tent shelters in southern Khan Younis, amidst ongoing and "deliberate" attacks on civilian and humanitarian aid facilities.
A coalition of 12 humanitarian organizations has declared that Gaza represents "one of the most significant humanitarian crises of our time." According to the Health Ministry of Gaza, the ongoing conflict, which has persisted for 18 months, has resulted in at least 51,065 confirmed Palestinian fatalities and 116,505 injuries, as reported by Al Jazeera.
The Gaza Government Media Office has revised its death toll to over 61,700, indicating that many individuals missing beneath the rubble are believed to be deceased. Additionally, Al Jazeera reports that at least 1,139 individuals lost their lives in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, 2023, with more than 200 others taken hostage.
