New York: Tom Fletcher, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, has issued a warning regarding the dwindling supplies of aid in Gaza due to the Israeli entity's obstruction of deliveries to the region.
"Over the past six weeks, we have made significant strides in providing food to millions in need, delivering medical supplies, and beginning to restore hospital operations. We also opened several new wells during my visit, which has had a substantial impact," Fletcher stated during a press conference.
"Eleven days is already far too long to deny aid to civilians who desperately require it," he emphasized.
"The supplies are clearly depleting at an alarming rate," he noted.
"The lack of fuel means that incubators are being turned off," Fletcher warned, indicating that Gaza is on the verge of experiencing another humanitarian crisis.
On March 2, 2025, the Israeli occupation announced the suspension of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and the closure of crossings "until further notice."
