Muscat: The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology launched a cybersecurity center called ‘Hadatha’ in collaboration with Sultan Qaboos University (SQU).

The centre aims to support research, invention, and development in cybersecurity. It also intends to establish the educational environment as a driver of national innovation.

The event was conducted under the auspices of Dr. Ali bin Amer Al Shidhani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology.

SQU Vice Chancellor HH Sayyid Dr. Fahd bin Al Julanda Al Said attended.

The event featured a visual presentation on the "Hadatha" cybersecurity center, as well as the opening of the center's registration page. The visitors took a tour of the facility and received a briefing on its modern equipment and functions.

“Hadatha” is poised to support Oman’s aim to become a regional leader in cybersecurity by hosting joint programs and initiatives with concerned departments, activating technical investments, localizing technologies, developing Omani youth skills, and encouraging them to create exportable and globally competitive technical solutions.
