TRA Sets Percentage For Employment Of Non-omanis In Network Operations Centres

Muscat: The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has announced a new directive regarding the employment ratio of non-Omanis in Network Operations Centres (NOC).

This directive, aimed at TRA licensees, is designed to enhance the capabilities of national personnel, empowering them to oversee this critical sector in alignment with the Authority’s strategic goals and Oman Vision 2040.

The established limit for non-Omani employment in these centres is set at a maximum of 6% of the total workforce.

Licensees that have not yet met this requirement are allowed a period of up to 8 months to comply with the stipulated percentage.

Additionally, the directive mandates that licensees submit a comprehensive Omanisation plan for TRA review and approval. They are also required to provide monthly progress reports detailing the implementation of their plans, specifically highlighting advancements made towards achieving the specified employment ratio as outlined by the TRA.
