Muscat: The Sultan's Special Force (SSF) commemorated its annual day today, observed on March 15 each year.
The event, which included the graduation of a new group of soldier recruits, was conducted under the patronage of Gen. Sultan Mohammed Al Nu'mani, Minister of the Royal Office.
As the chief guest arrived at the military parade ground at Al Sumood Camp, the Royal Guard of Oman’s band performed the Royal Anthem. The graduating class rendered a military salute to the chief guest.
Gen. Sultan Al Nu'mani conducted an inspection of the front row of graduates. Following this, the graduates showcased a military display as they marched past the dais, saluting the chief guest once more.
Subsequently, Gen. Sultan Al Nu'mani awarded prizes to the top-performing graduates.
The graduates then recited the Oath of Allegiance, chanting three times, “Long live His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander.”
Later, the chief guest conferred the “Medal of Excellent Service” and the “Medal of Royal Commendation” to senior officers, officers, and non-commissioned officers of the SSF in recognition of their commitment to the esteemed national duty.
