State Council Discusses Study On Diversifying Sources Of Income In Oman

Muscat: The State Council's office today reviewed a research titled "Mechanism for Diversifying Sources of Income in the Sultanate of Oman. "

The debate took place during the State Council's fifth meeting of its second regular convening of the Eighth Term.

Sheikh Abdulmalik bin Abdullah Al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council, presided over the meeting.

The report looked at the current state of Oman's economy and sources of national revenue. It also gave a briefing on global experiences in dealing with the issues of diversifying income streams and financial sustainability.

The study concluded with a focus on investigating future opportunities and suggestions for diversifying income sources across economic sectors.

The meeting also looked at a report presented by the Social and Cultural Committee on hosting representatives from the Social Protection Fund to debate a framework for implementing the social protection system.

The State Council office reviewed reports presented by Council members after attending regional and international gatherings, as well as progress reports.
