Shura Council Receives Delegation From Bahrain’s Council Of Representatives

Muscat: Ahmed Mohammed Al Nadabi, the Secretary General of the Shura Council, welcomed a delegation from the General Secretariat of the Council of Representatives of Bahrain. This visit is part of the ongoing efforts by both councils to enhance legislative collaboration and share expertise and best practices aimed at improving administrative and technical performance within the secretariats of legislative bodies.

The Secretary General expressed his warm welcome to the visiting delegation, underscoring the strong historical connections between the Sultanate of Oman and Bahrain, which are fostered by the wise leadership of both countries.

He pointed out the importance of such visits and collaborative meetings among the secretariat staff of legislative councils, in accordance with the joint recommendations made during the meetings of the GCC Legislative Councils’ Speakers and Secretaries-General, both regionally and internationally.

These interactions play a crucial role in sharing knowledge, exchanging successful practices, and promoting institutional growth.

During their visit, the Bahraini delegation received a thorough overview of the Shura Council’s organizational framework, which includes its various departments and secretariats, along with their specific roles and operational processes in managing administrative and financial matters.

The delegation also had the opportunity to tour the Council's facilities, including a visit to the Oman Council Library, which offers a rich and varied knowledge base for researchers and individuals interested in legislative matters.

They also observed the main deliberation hall, where Council members engage in discussions and legislative debates during their sessions.

The visiting delegation praised Oman’s Shura experience, highlighting the maturity of its consultative process and the progress of systems and technologies that enhance the effectiveness of legislative work.
