Shubman Gill Wins February's ICC Men's Player Of The Month Award

Dubai: Shubman Gill, the vice-captain of Team India, was awarded the 'Player of the Month' for February on Wednesday, recognizing his outstanding batting achievements in the 50-over format throughout the month.

The talented Indian opener secured the accolade, surpassing competitors such as Australia's Steve Smith and New Zealand's Glenn Phillips.

During five one-day internationals in February, Gill amassed a remarkable 406 runs, boasting an average of 101.50 and a strike rate of 94.19.

His impressive performance included a key role in the 3-0 series victory over England, where he recorded three consecutive half-centuries.

Gill started with a solid 87 in Nagpur, followed by a 60 in Cuttack, and concluded with a spectacular century in Ahmedabad, scoring 112 off just 102 balls, which featured 14 fours and three sixes.

For his outstanding innings, he was named Player of the Match and also received the Player of the Series award.

Continuing his remarkable form into the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Gill scored an unbeaten 101, leading India’s chase in their opening match against Bangladesh in Dubai. He then contributed a determined 46 against Pakistan.

India triumphed in both of their initial matches in the Champions Trophy, thanks to these performances.

This marks Gill's third ICC Men's Player of the Month award, having previously won it twice in 2023—once in January and again in September.

Gill was also part of the Indian team that clinched the Champions Trophy title last week.
