Muscat: His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, will lead the inauguration of the 15th Arab Theatre Festival on Thursday.
This prestigious event will take place in the Sultanate of Oman, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth in collaboration with the Arab Theatre Authority and the Omani Theatre Society.
Running until January 15, the festival will showcase 15 remarkable theatrical performances from both Omani and international artists. These performances will be held across three venues: Al Bustan Palace, the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (Al Irfan), and the College of Banking Studies.
The festival serves as a platform for a distinguished assembly of prominent Arab artists, theatre professionals, writers, and directors, who will explore strategies to enhance the role of theatre in promoting culture and innovation within the Arab region.
Approximately 500 Arab artists will participate in the performances and related activities.
Additionally, the festival will feature an exhibition of Omani handicrafts, an art exhibition, and 28 press conferences, along with a scholarly workshop focused on various aspects of theatre, artificial intelligence (AI), and innovation.
