Muscat: The State Audit Institution (SAI) has recently announced the successful recovery of over OMR 177 million in the fiscal year 2023, underscoring its dedication to fostering transparency and accountability throughout the various government entities and investments of Oman.
In its 2023 Annual Report, which was presented to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik by His Excellency Sheikh Ghuson bin Hilal Al Alawi, the esteemed Chairman of the SAI, the institution has emphasized its pivotal role in the recovery of OMR 95 million in 2023, in addition to the OMR 82.7 million recovered in the preceding year. These funds have been returned to the State Public Treasury after thorough audits of financial and administrative operations.
Furthermore, the report was disseminated to the Council of Ministers and the State and Shura Councils in accordance with the mandates of Article (66) of the Basic Statute of the State and Article (29) of the State Audit Law.
