A’Rustaq: The Paediatric Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Department at A’Rustaq Hospital in South Al Batinah Governorate successfully diagnosed bleeding in a 9-year-old child's gastric wall vein.
Dr. Tawfiq Al Lawati, Senior Consultant in Paediatrics Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases, noted the rarity of such bleeding in children.
The patient, who vomited frank red blood, underwent surgery where the team utilized specialized endoscopy to inject the vein and apply advanced clips to stop the bleeding.
