Royal Army Of Oman Marks SAF Day

Muscat: The Royal Army of Oman (RAO) commemorated Sultan’s Armed Forces Day (SAF Day) today, an annual observance held on December 11.

The ceremony took place in the Governorate of Muscat, presided over by Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion.

The event commenced with a military salute to the distinguished guest. The RAO band performed the Royal Anthem, followed by various segments of the celebration. The chief guest and attendees witnessed demonstrations of training exercises, military displays, and a range of field skills showcasing the expertise and proficiency of RAO members.

Additionally, the audience enjoyed an equestrian performance and a tent-pegging exhibition by the Sultan of Oman’s Armored Cavalry, along with a free-fall display by a team from the Sultan of Oman’s Parachute Regiment.

In recognition of SAF Day, the chief guest honored RAO members by presenting Long Excellent Service and Good Conduct medals.

The ceremony was attended by several commanders from the Sultan’s Armed Forces, along with representatives from other military and security services, veteran commanders, senior officers, retired personnel, and members of the SAF.
