RNOV Shabab Oman II Participates In SAIL Amsterdam Festival

Amsterdam: The Royal Navy of Oman ship (RNOV) Shabab Oman II joined the SAIL Amsterdam event 2025 on Thursday.

The ship's inclusion with dozens of other sailing ships and historic boats from across the world generated a nautical tableau that depicted the history of navigation. The port became a global meeting ground for cultures.

Shabab Oman II drew considerable attention from tourists and the media. A throng stood as it docked amongst the biggest historical ships, conveying the memories of millennia of sailing. The Omani boat represented the Sultanate of Oman's long history in maritime arts, emphasizing Oman's identity as a seafaring country with a new civil presence.

As part of the associated activities, the Oman Investment Authority (OIA) provided a series of lectures and promotional presentations. The goal was to promote Oman and its attractive investment possibilities, as well as to highlight the country's distinct economic and logistical strengths. These presentations were made to investors, entrepreneurs, and professionals from the marine and economic sectors who were attending the festival, promoting Oman's civilized image and emphasizing its status as a major investment destination.

Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Salim Al Harthy, Oman's ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, said: The involvement of 'Shabab Oman II' in this international event represents the strong historical and friendly ties between Oman and the Netherlands. It also represents Oman's eagerness to attend international events with a humanitarian message promoting peace and love.

Commodore Adel Humood Al Busaidi of Oman's Royal Navy stated that 'Shabab Oman II' is more than a naval ship; it is a national emblem that represents Oman's long history and exemplifies the ambitions of the present and future. These international maritime participations provide a genuine platform for showcasing the skills of Omani youngsters and represent the Royal Navy of Oman's commitment to developing their abilities and honing their expertise, so strengthening Oman's presence in worldwide maritime and cultural arenas.
