Edinburgh: The Royal Army of Oman (RAO) band has won first place overall in the Infantry and Military Discipline Competition in Scotland, United Kingdom.
The RAO band was also recognized as the finest band from outside the United Kingdom at the Bridge of Allan Championship in Scotland.
Members of the RAO band finished in higher places at the individual level in the batonbearing event.
Staff Sergeant Nader Jumaan Bait Jabali earned the second-place trophy, while Warrant Officer Mohammed Khamis Al Amri won the third-place award in the competition's third phase, which took place in the Scottish town of Bridge of Allan.
Meanwhile, the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) band retained its top position in the bagpipes and drums competition, which was held in the Bridge of Allan village as part of the Grade Four category of the World Music Competition.
The drum group properly earned first place among seven foreign bands competing in this category of the worldwide tournament.
