Edinburgh: Warrant Officer Thani Mohammed Khamis Al Amri, a member of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO) band, finished sixth in the batonbearing event at Grade 5 of the World Music Competition in Scotland.
The competition, which was held in Perth, Scotland, featured 147 bands from all over the world competing in the 3B category in preparation for the World Championships, which will be held later in Glasgow, Scotland.
Grade 5 featured bagpipe and drum championships, the performance of musical works, military discipline, and individual baton competitions.
The band has already won 16 trophies and awards in Renfrew, Dumbarton, Dundonald, Bridge of Allan, and Perth. It will end its visit to Glasgow with the World Bands Competition (World Music Competition).
