Edinburgh: In a testament to its commitment to musical excellence and international collaboration, the Royal Army of Oman's Music Band has embarked on a comprehensive training regimen as part of its involvement in an esteemed global music competition, scheduled to commence in Scotland, the United Kingdom, and will span from August 15, 2022, to August 19, 2024.
The competition's prestigious knockout rounds are scheduled across five cities in Scotland, serving as a stage for the international music band from various nations to showcase their prowess in music, perform military drills, and put together infantry displays, all in preparation for the contest in which the Royal Army of Oman's Music Band is set to participate.
Colonel Ahmed Salim Al Shukairi, the esteemed Director of the Royal Army of Oman's Music Band, expressed that this event presents a unique opportunity to exhibit the exceptional standards of military music from Oman, the discipline of the armed forces, and the level of professionalism amongst the band members.
He further highlighted that the assembly facilitated an invaluable platform for members of the Royal Army of Oman's Music Band to interface with international counterparts, share insights, and enhance their capabilities. “Our optimism extends to the Royal Army of Oman's Music Band securing commendations and securing higher placements within various competitions, in line with the forthcoming international classification criteria established by the organizing committee,” declared Colonel Al Shukairi.
He also noted that the International Music Competition adjudications have elevated the classification of the Royal Army of Oman's Music Band following its distinguished performance at the previous edition of the competition in 2023.
