PCB Relocates ODI Tri-series With New Zealand, South Africa To Lahore And Karachi

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Wednesday that the upcoming ODI tri-series featuring New Zealand and South Africa will now take place in Lahore and Karachi, as reported by ESPNcricinfo.

This change in venue was necessitated by ongoing renovations at the Multan stadium, which is being prepared to host the Champions Trophy 2025.

Originally scheduled to occur in Multan, the four-match tri-series will now be held at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and the National Stadium in Karachi, with the series set to commence on February 8.

The PCB issued a statement confirming the relocation of the tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa.

"Due to the advanced preparations at Gaddafi Stadium and the National Bank Stadium, the PCB has opted to move the upcoming tri-nation ODI series to these two venues. The series, which includes New Zealand and South Africa alongside Pakistan, was initially planned for Multan," the PCB stated, as reported by ESPNcricinfo.

As per ESPNcricinfo, out of the 15 matches scheduled for the Champions Trophy, 10 or 11 will be held in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi, while the remaining matches, including one semi-final, will take place in Dubai.

The Champions Trophy is making a return after more than seven years, featuring eight teams and 15 matches in the 50-over format across Pakistan and Dubai. The finalists from the previous edition, India and Pakistan, are set to meet on February 23 in Dubai.

Lahore is slated to host the final on March 9, unless India qualifies, in which case the final will be moved to Dubai. Both semi-finals and the final will include reserve days.

Pakistan will kick off Group A against New Zealand in Karachi on February 19.
