On Behalf Of HM, HH Sayyid Shihab Participates In GCC Supreme Council’s Extraordinary Session

Doha: On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, the Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs, took part in the Extraordinary Session of the GCC Supreme Council concerning the Israeli assault on the State of Qatar.

The summit was attended by Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC, and took place in the Qatari capital, Doha, today. This meeting was held prior to the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit, which is set to occur later on Monday.

The Extraordinary Session reviewed the most recent developments, specifically the Israeli attack on the State of Qatar and its severe implications for regional security and stability. The summit reiterated the unified stance of the GCC in support of Qatar's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

It highlighted the importance of strengthening solidarity and collaborative efforts to protect the security and paramount interests of the GCC member states, as well as to aid in the maintenance of regional and international peace and security.

The Extraordinary Session also addressed political, economic, and security developments in the region, in addition to regional and international matters of mutual concern.

The session was presided over by Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar. Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister, represented Oman.
