Muscat: The Omani Lawyers Association has officially launched the 12th edition of the "Fak Kurbah" initiative, a charitable effort aimed at raising funds for the release of individuals imprisoned due to financial insolvency.
Dr. Hamad bin Hamdan Al Rubaie, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Omani Lawyers Association, highlighted that this initiative reflects the association's ongoing dedication to humanitarian efforts within Omani society.
"From its inception, the initiative has showcased the noble objectives and values that characterize Omani society, embodying the spirit of collaboration and support among its members and institutions," Al Rubaie remarked. "This is clearly illustrated by the initiative's past achievements, which have allowed us to aid a considerable number of deserving individuals."
Dr. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Zadjali, General Supervisor of the "Fak Kurbah" initiative, noted, "For 11 years, this initiative, overseen by the Omani Lawyers Association, has successfully facilitated the release of over 7,110 individuals who qualified under its criteria."
He further mentioned that this year's goal is to secure the release of around 1,300 individuals, relying on the generosity of community members and various organizations.
Al Rubaie explained that donations can be made electronically through the initiative's website (www.fakkrba.om), via the initiative's bank account, and through the "Thawani" mobile application.
