Muscat: The specialized training programs for the 2025/2026 academic year have seen enrollment of 198 physicians from several healthcare facilities across the Sultanate of Oman. the academic year at the Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB).
This includes 72 doctors from the internship program and four physicians who participated in local fellowship programs at the Royal Hospital in pediatric cardiology, adult hematology, and other specialties. the University Medical City (Sultan Qaboos University Hospital), and otology and otologic surgery at Al Nahdha Hospital.
Dr. Hood Abdullah Al Abri, Vice President for Academic Affairs at OMSB, spoke at the orientation day for the newly enrolled physicians and highlighted that that the next stage of specialized medical training focuses on more than simply gaining theoretical knowledge in their chosen fields. This intensive course will bring you to higher levels of clinical competence, integrating knowledge, skills, and behavior so you can perform at the top of your field. He said that in order to make wise choices for your patients and in professional settings, one must.
Theoretical understanding alone is no longer enough, he continued, because modern medicine must quickly adjust to changes in science and technology.
