Omani Lawyers Association Launches 11th Edition Of Fak Kurbah Initiative

Muscat: The Omani Lawyers Association has launched the 11th edition of the Fak Kurbah initiative, which aims to gather financial donations to support families affected by insolvency resulting from civil, commercial, legal, or labor-related claims. This initiative will run for a duration of two months.

Dr. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Zadjali, the President of the Omani Lawyers Association and supervisor of the Fak Kurbah Initiative, expressed that this year's 11th edition builds upon the previous successes achieved by the initiative. He acknowledged the efforts of the individuals involved, including lawyers, and emphasized the importance of their continued dedication. Since its inception in 2012, the initiative has successfully resolved over 5,890 cases.

Al Zadjali further highlighted the association's desire for increased participation from various segments of society, including individuals and institutions. He expressed confidence in the generosity of the people of Oman and their commitment to restoring hope for those in need and their families.

It is worth mentioning that the Fak Kurbah initiative was first launched in 2012, targeting five courts in the Sultanate of Oman. Ten volunteer lawyers initially participated, leading to the release of 44 insolvent individuals. In its tenth edition last year, the initiative expanded its reach to include 925 people in need, thanks to the efforts of lawyers across all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
