Oman, Singapore To Boost Bilateral Relations

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Singapore are actively enhancing their bilateral relations through various strategic initiatives that demonstrate their commitment to partnership and collaboration.

Dr. Mohamed Maliki Osman, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, Second Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Second Minister for Education of Singapore, highlighted the longstanding historical ties between Oman and Singapore.

In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), he noted that both nations share common goals and visions for the future, particularly their ambition to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

The Singaporean Minister emphasized that the recent 2nd strategic dialogue in Muscat reflects the dedication of both countries' leadership to strengthen joint cooperation and identify investment opportunities.

He expressed his pleasure regarding the progress in bilateral relations during the event commemorating the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

Oman is recognized as Singapore's seventh-largest trading partner in the MENA region. Furthermore, both nations have agreed to enhance their diplomatic presence in 2023 by elevating their general consulates to embassies.
