Muscat: Oman’s pavilion is making a dynamic impression at the 56th Algiers International Fair, where Oman is the guest of honour this year. The pavilion's design and wide range of offerings make it a stunning representation of the country's economic and cultural identity.
Oman's involvement comprises 60 businesses from industries such as pharmaceuticals, transportation, electric converters, real estate, fisheries, tourism, food goods, and traditional crafts. Culturally, the pavilion showcases the historic AlAqr district, which has been revitalized by the community and is connected to Nizwa's ancient capital and the cherished art of Omani halwa preparation.
Mahmoud bin Suleiman AlYazeedi, Head of Export Promotion at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, stated that Oman’s choice as guest of honour prompted the creation of a complete exhibit showcasing its cultural, economic, and service sectors.
He mentioned that the almost 900-square-meter pavilion has sections for government agencies, the general council, SMEs, big enterprises, artisans, and a cultural zone. Designed to look like an authentic Omani village, it features attractions related to the country's natural and cultural heritage, allowing visitors to experience the depth of Omani civilization.
The Oman Exports team oversaw the design, symbolizing the Sultanate's efforts to increase the global presence of its products and guide exporters into international markets.
Accompanying the exhibition is a traditional Omani folklore ensemble that performs national songs, emphasizing Oman’s rich artistic and cultural legacy.
