Oman Participates In International Conference On Peaceful Settlement Of Palestinian Question

New York: The Sultanate of Oman is attending the High-level International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Palestinian Question and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution.

The conference, which began on July 21, will end on July 30 at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

Sheikh Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Hinai, Ambassador-at-Large in the Foreign Ministry, leads Oman's delegation to the meeting.

The plenary meeting, which took place in the General Assembly auditorium, featured remarks from participating delegations.

During the session, UN Secretary-General António Guterres gave a speech stating that the establishment of a Palestinian state is a right, not a prize. He emphasized that the two-state solution is the only viable, fair, and long-term option.

The international conference opened with a high-level ministerial meeting of the working groups that will accompany the conference sessions. Discussions at this event centered on a number of issues aimed at establishing a platform for unifying important perspectives, emphasizing international agreement in support of the two-state solution through political, legal, economic, and humanitarian channels, and defining specific next steps.
