Oman Participates In International Art Week In China

Beijing: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Education, will participate in the 2025 International Art Week, which will be held in the Chinese city of Dunhuang from August 9 to 14 under the theme Ode to Peace.

The event brings together performers, young talents, educators, and intellectuals from throughout the world. The participants emphasize cultural exchange and creative arts promotion. They also want to include cultural legacy into educational curriculums to increase awareness among countries in the global community.

During the celebration, students from Salalah Basic Education School for Boys, an educational institution affiliated with UNESCO in the Dhofar Governorate, performed Al Bar'aa, an Omani folk art that has been included on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2010 as a unique aspect of the Sultanate of Oman.

Al Bar'aa art depicts the values of bravery, kindness, and hospitality that the people of Dhofar Governorate are known for.

The Sultanate of Oman's participation in the event allows the country to highlight its cultural richness on the international scene, promote cooperation in education and culture, and strengthen Oman's position in international cultural organizations.
