Muscat: Dr. Ali Masoud Al Sunaidy, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ), welcomed Eng. Khalil Salimah, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industrial Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, today.
The discussion centered on enhancing economic collaboration in the areas of special economic zones, free zones, and industrial sectors between the two nations. Emphasis was placed on optimizing the advantages of production chains and the utilization of raw materials in factories located within the special economic zones and free zones of both countries.
Additionally, the meeting assessed the advancements made in the development of the Integrated Economic Zone in Al Dahirah (EZAD) and announced the launch of the infrastructure tender for the initiative. Twelve consortiums, consisting of Omani and Saudi firms, have acquired the tender documents. The dialogue also included strategies for streamlining the movement of industrial products across the Empty Quarter border crossing between the two countries.
Present at the meeting were Ibrahim Saad Bishan, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Sultanate of Oman, along with various officials from both delegations.
