Oman Hosts Annual Conference For Dutch Travel Agents

Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT), on behalf of the Sultanate of Oman, has successfully hosted the annual conference of the Dutch Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (ANVR).

This event was meticulously organized in collaboration with the Dutch Travel Association.

The inaugural ceremony took place under the esteemed patronage of Azzan Qassim Al Busaidi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, amidst the presence of the Dutch Ambassador.

The conference attracted 185 companies from the tourism sector in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, presenting a significant opportunity to present the Sultanate of Oman as an attractive travel destination for tourism and media entities within the Dutch market.

It served as an invaluable platform for Dutch tourism companies to acquaint themselves with Oman's tourist attractions, distinctive experiences, and heritage sites, thereby offering a thorough presentation to entities that will subsequently engage in promoting Oman.

Moreover, this conference is deemed to be a crucial step in enhancing collaboration with these entities to draw in tourists from targeted markets, facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise, and cultivate partnerships with counterparts in Oman.

The Ministry has announced that the Sultanate of Oman has seen a notable increase in tourist arrivals from the Kingdom of the Netherlands in 2023, with a total of 18,164 visitors. From January to the end of September 2024, Oman has welcomed 11,341 Dutch visitors.
