Baghdad: The Sultanate of Oman is participating as a guest of honour in the 48th session of the Baghdad International Fair.
This participation is intended to strengthen trade and investment ties between Oman and Iraq, while also exploring new avenues for collaboration across various economic sectors. Additionally, it aims to support partnership opportunities between Omani and Iraqi businesses and to leverage existing investment prospects.
Oman's delegation was present at the opening of the economic forum that accompanies the Baghdad International Fair, which features participation from 20 countries and over 1,000 companies.
This significant involvement positions the event as a key platform for displaying products and services, as well as fostering business relationships among entrepreneurs from around the globe.
The Omani delegation was led by Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion.
During the event, the delegation engaged with Ghassan Farhan, the Iraqi Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce. They also met with several Iraqi business leaders to investigate investment opportunities and discuss ways to enhance cooperation in trade, industry, and logistics.
In a statement, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion emphasized the necessity of broadening trade relations, highlighting that the Iraqi market offers significant investment potential.
Faisal Abdullah Al Rowas, Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), emphasized the importance of strengthening economic collaboration between entrepreneurs from both nations. He noted that cooperation in trade and investment would play a crucial role in fostering mutual economic growth and generating new opportunities for the private sector.
The Sultanate of Oman is showcasing its presence at the fair with a pavilion featuring over 30 Omani companies from diverse economic sectors, including industry, trade, logistics, energy, and technology.
