NCSI Launches A Webpage For Women’s Indicators In Oman

Muscat: The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) has introduced a dedicated webpage focused on women's indicators in the Sultanate of Oman, coinciding with International Women’s Day, celebrated annually on March 8.

This webpage is designed to showcase the most recent indicators concerning Omani women, organized around six key areas: demographics, health, education, employment, social protection, and political participation.

Susan bint Dawood Al Lawati, the Director General of Information at NCSI, noted that the current version of the page features three primary indicators for each area, allowing users to track the progress of these indicators through available time series data or by selecting specific years for detailed information.

She stated, "The platform enables users to download the data presented in each area, promoting the concept of open data and facilitating reuse for those interested."

The Director General emphasized that this webpage will play a crucial role in providing a comprehensive and accurate understanding of the status of women in Oman, granting researchers, policymakers, and the broader community access to essential information that supports sustainable development initiatives and the social and economic empowerment of Omani women.
