Muscat: Today, the National Defence College (NDC), Academy of Strategic and Defence Studies, was graced by the presence of Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the esteemed Secretary General of the Arab League, who delivered a lecture titled "Regional and International Variables and their Impact on Joint Arab Action".
This lecture was an integral part of the curriculum for the 12th National Defence Course.
Rear Admiral Ali Abdullah Al Shidi, the Commandant of the National Defence College, extended a warm welcome to the Secretary-General of the Arab League, expressing his gratitude for the Secretary-General's unwavering dedication to enriching the knowledge of the participants of the NDC course through his insightful lectures.
During the lecture, the Secretary-General of the Arab League provided a comprehensive analysis of the current international scenario and its implications for joint Arab initiatives. He highlighted the role of regional and international factors and occurrences in shaping the operations of the Arab League. The discourse also encompassed the challenges and incentives associated with collective Arab action, as well as the influence of modern technology on the evolving nature of warfare.
In the concluding remarks, the Secretary-General of the Arab League addressed questions posed by the participants of the 12th National Defence Course.
The lecture was attended by distinguished senior officers from the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF), representatives from military and security agencies, the National Defence College, and civil departments.
