Muscat: The Ministry of Labour emphasized the need of following with wage transfer regulations as outlined in Ministerial Resolution No. 729/2024 on the Wage Protection System, which was published in the Official Gazette on December 15, 2024.
The goal of the law is to regulate the labor market and enable firms to avoid financial consequences.
According to the ministry's announcement, companies must guarantee that at least 75% of their staff earn compensation via the Wage Protection System, beginning with salaries for September 2025 (payable in October).
Furthermore, compliance rates must increase to 90% of workers beginning with the remuneration for November 2025 (payable in December).
The ministry emphasized that complying with these standards is critical for protecting workers' rights and maintaining fair salary practices in Oman's labor market.
