Muscat: King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa of Bahrain arrived today for a two-day state visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik was present to greet the King upon his arrival. As the aircraft landed at the Royal Airport, the Sultan welcomed the King at the foot of the ramp, extending his best wishes for a pleasant stay for him and his delegation in Oman.
In addition to the Sultan, King Hamad was received by several dignitaries, including HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs; Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court; Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu'mani, Minister of the Royal Office; Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior and Head of the Mission of Honour; Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister; Sayyid Faisal bin Harib Al Busaidi, Ambassador of Oman to Bahrain; Dr. Juma bin Ahmed Al Ka’abi, Ambassador of Bahrain to Oman; members of the mission of honour; and several representatives from the Bahraini Embassy in Muscat.
As the King’s aircraft entered Omani airspace, it was accompanied by a squadron of military aircraft from the Royal Air Force of Oman, symbolizing a warm welcome.
Following this, His Majesty the Sultan and King Hamad proceeded to the hall, flanked by a guard of honour from the Royal Guard of Oman.
After a brief interlude, the motorcade of the two leaders departed the Royal Airport, en route to Al Alam Palace for an official and public reception.
As the motorcade of the two leaders approached Muscat Gate, a contingent from the Royal Camel Corps stood at attention along both sides of the road, extending a warm welcome to the visiting dignitary. Following this, a procession from the Royal Cavalry and the RGO Cavalry escorted the official motorcade to the National Museum, accompanied by a mounted military band performing ceremonial music.
Upon the motorcade's arrival at the courtyard leading to Al Alam Palace, a vibrant reception unfolded, featuring the participation of both male and female citizens. A series of folklore bands lined the route, singing traditional songs to express their heartfelt welcome to the guest.
As the motorcade reached the courtyard of Al Alam Palace, the RGO band played a welcoming melody, creating an atmosphere filled with celebration and festivity.
Subsequently, His Majesty the Sultan escorted King Hamad to the Dais of Honour, where the National Anthem of the Kingdom of Bahrain was performed, followed by a twenty-one-gun salute in honor of the guest.
Afterward, His Majesty the Sultan greeted members of the official delegation accompanying the King, wishing them a pleasant and fruitful visit. In turn, the King exchanged handshakes with various members of the Royal Family, Chairpersons of the State Council and Shura Council, as well as ministers and commanders of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and the Royal Oman Police (ROP).
