Muscat: The World Health Organization (WHO) has praised Oman's water safety policies and practices, recognizing the Sultanate as a regional leader in this vital area of management.

The WHO acknowledged the innovative initiatives of the Public Services Regulation Authority in improving quality standards, implementing ongoing training programs, and equipping local professionals with cutting-edge global knowledge. It also pointed out that Oman's combination of legislative and technical frameworks is essential for maintaining long-term water safety and quality, thereby supporting sustainable development goals related to public health and environmental conservation.

Attendees at the "Water Safety" Forum remarked that the event offered a valuable opportunity to enhance technical skills and broaden specialized knowledge in water safety management. They commended the thorough training materials, engaging workshops, and insightful discussions that enabled them to adopt best practices from around the world and formulate clear strategies to tackle water-related risks and operational challenges.

Experts from the WHO contributed significant scientific and intellectual insights to the program, underscoring the necessity of continuing such ambitious national efforts. The forum also facilitated the sharing of experiences and successful practices among professionals from various organizations, further enhancing institutional effectiveness and bolstering Oman's water security.

The five-day forum, organized by the Public Services Regulation Authority in partnership with the WHO, concluded today with participation from over 40 licensed companies in the water sector. The intensive training program was designed to elevate the skills of national professionals, ensuring they remain aligned with global advancements in water safety management.
