Muscat: Under the esteemed patronage of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, a student festival titled "Oman's Renewed Renaissance" took place at Al Fateh Square in the Muscat Governorate, attended by Her Highness the Honourable Lady Assayida Ahd Abdullah Hamed Al Busaidi, the spouse of the Sultan of Oman.
In anticipation of His Majesty's motorcade, approximately 1,800 citizens and folklore groups from various governorates gathered along the road to extend their warm welcome. The Royal Music Band, along with camel riders and knights, participated in the festivities, expressing their loyalty and gratitude to His Majesty the Sultan while celebrating this significant national event.
Upon His Majesty’s arrival at Al Fateh Square, he was warmly received by Dr. Madiha Ahmed Al Shibani, the Minister of Education, and Sheikh Saba’a bin Hamdan Al Sa’adi, the Secretary General of the National Celebrations.
As His Majesty took his place on the Royal dais, the music band performed the Royal anthem.
The festival commenced with a vibrant “Welcoming Tableau,” showcasing the joy and happiness of the Omani people in celebration of this momentous occasion.
The second tableau, titled “Knowledge,” represented education as a crucial element of sustainable development, aligned with Oman Vision 2040. It highlighted the importance of innovation, research, and the enhancement of the nation’s capabilities.
The third tableau, “A Promise Fulfilled,” illustrated the achievements realized over the past five years of Oman’s Renewed Renaissance, emphasizing the attention given to various sectors and their impact on the nation-building process.
In the fourth tableau, titled “Oman, the Land of Peace,” participants conveyed their pride in the unique heritage of Oman, which is founded on the principles of Shura (consultation) and peace. These values serve as the foundation for the strong connections among the Omani people.
The fifth tableau, “Oman Across Ages,” featured a diverse group of citizens from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, who joined student formations to highlight Omani heritage and folklore. This presentation reflected the deep affection the Omani people hold for their homeland and their unwavering loyalty to His Majesty the Sultan. It showcased their commitment to preserving and revitalizing their folk arts and traditions for future generations.
The finale expressed heartfelt loyalty and appreciation for His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, along with a commitment to progress under his astute leadership, aiming for expansive horizons of development and prosperity in the context of Oman’s Renewed Renaissance and sustainable growth.
The festival was graced by the presence of His Majesty, members of the Royal Family, dignitaries from the Al Busaid family, Chairpersons of the State Council and Shura Council, ministers, advisors, commanders of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and the Royal Oman Police (ROP), heads of accredited Diplomatic Missions, members of the State Council and Shura Council, undersecretaries, judges, senior officials, editors-in-chief of both local and international newspapers, as well as leaders of various associations and clubs, alongside citizens and families of the participating students.
A total of 8,000 participants from the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman took part in the festival, commemorating the 5th anniversary of His Majesty the Sultan's Accession Day, marking the beginning of Oman’s Renewed Renaissance.
