The inaugural meeting took place today to establish the national working team tasked with developing the system for implementing the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, and Stockpiling of Bacteriological and Toxin Weapons.
The session was led by the Director of Operational Requirements at the Command of the Sultan's Armed Forces (COSAF) and included participation from various advisors and experts from military, security units, and relevant government agencies.
During the meeting, several agenda items were addressed. This convention represents a significant international agreement in the realm of disarmament and the prohibition of weapons of mass destruction, with the objective of bolstering global security and peace. Oman became a signatory to the convention following Royal Decree (17/92).
